Giorgio Manuzzi and Marit Strømøy was 6th in both races in the opening round of Class 1 World Champoinship in Rio. The duo had only 10 laps of practice before the race due to delays in the shipping. After finishing 5th in the pole position on Saturday morning, the Welmax Alianza 91 had an exiting race, but a spinout in lap 7 forced them to take it a bit more easy and they ended the day in 6th position. Both races was won by FAZZA 3. The Welmax 90 with Jørn Tanberg and Kolbjørn Selmer had a good race on Saturday and they entered the podium with a 3rd place. On the second race some technical problems forced them to retire on the opening lap.

Marit was the trottleman of boat 91 and was happy to finish her first two Class 1 races with World Championship points. - I'm very grateful for this opportunity to race with the Welmax team, says Marit. Now she will return to Oslo and prepare for the opening round of the F1 World Championship in Portimao, Portugal in the beginning of May.
