BROKEN ENGINES

Fastest in the first practice, but then the trouble started for Marit.
With two broken engines and some damage to the hull, she never reached the final.
– Very disappointing, but the boat was fast and with the new crashbox on the balance was even better, says Marit in the way home from Nora.
The race was won by Ugis Gross followed by Mikael Nylund and Mikki Fors.
Next up for Marit is F1 in Lahti the following weekend. Stay tuned…

Marit had some good fights in Portimao. Starting from 16th on the grid she moved up the field and after 42 laps she was chasing Philippe Dessertene in 6th when it all turned. After 45 laps of 55 a fuel hose desolved and the race was over for Marit. The race was won by Jay Price followed by Ahmad Al Hameli and Francesco Cantando in third.

DISAPPOINTING 4th PLACE IN ROUEN

Marit and the IXE Team had a hard 24 hour race this year. The new boat of the team was not balancing well and in the rough water conditions the drivers had some major handling problems. Despite the bad balance Colin managed to drive into the lead of the Class 2 within the first hour before he nosedived the boat really hard in the waves and came out with some damages on the boat. Luckily Colin was unhurt, but the boat canopy, back cowling, pickle forks and nose had to change. And so it went on for 24 hours.... With the team a number of times on the shore repairing both boat and engine, it was impossible to get a podium this year. A bit disappointing, but a least we finished. – Had this been my first time in Rouen, I would have been happy to finish 4th, but we came there to win and didn’t, says Marit.

BUSY WEEK FOR MARIT!

It’s now time for the annual 24 hour race of Rouen. The race is set Wednesday to Thursday this week and Marit is now with the IXE Team in France. Marit will race with Colin Jelf, Yves and Frederik Roguez in boat number 23. The boat is new this year and testing shows some good speed. The weather forecast says heavy rain and temperatures down to 6 degrees so it will be a tough night for the drivers.
After the race, Marit will head down to Portugal for the second round of the F1 World Cup on Saturday and Sunday. Stay tuned for more updates during the week.

In between the racing there’s time for some music. This version of the song One Moment In Time is taken live from yesterdays show at Wallmans Salonger in Copenhagen. On vocals is Marit Strømøy accompanied by Frederik Von Wachenfeldt on the piano.
